Briefly tell us about The Beast & Spoon.
The Beast & Spoon is a personal chef service founded in 2014 by Daniel Radovcich and Marluy Andrade. We provide clients with a personal chef that cooks a customized, gourmet meal in your kitchen. Our focus is on the integrity of local ingredients.
What COVID-19 updates can you share?
Due to the intimate nature of our services, we require all travelers to provide us with a negative pre-departure COVID test. We are happy to provide you with chef services 14 days after you arrive on Maui should you choose to skip testing.
On the day of service, we perform a temperature check, for all guests enjoying the meal.
Our team has their temperature taken and logged once a day. We will be in masks during service and use disposable gloves while preparing your food. If you wish for our staff to be COVID tested please inform us one month in advance.
Unfortunately, the following services are not available during the pandemic:
-Bar services and signature cocktails
-Dinners for two
-Custom calligraphy menus and signage
-Luau, hula, fire, Tahitian dancers
I decided against traveling to Maui, can you refund me my deposit?
Unfortunately, your 5% deposit is non-refundable. Once a deposit is collected, we hold that date as yours and do not double book with other clients. For this reason, we keep your deposit as non-refundable.
Can you accommodate special diets like vegan, celiac (gluten-free) or dairy-free food allergies?
Yes, we work individually with each client to create a menu that is specific to their taste and dietary needs. We encourage off-menu requests that are not part of our standard menu.
How does your pricing work? Can you give me a quick quote?
Brunch starts at $100/person, Lunch $125/person and Dinner is between $175-$300/person. Hawaii sales tax is 4.1667%. Keiki (kids) under 14 years old are complimentary. Parties over 4 require the addition of a dishwasher to the team. Our minimum order is $1000. Customized menus are welcomed at no additional cost. We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. There is a 3% charge for credit card transactions.
What about prices on major holidays?
It is our policy to increase prices during major holidays to compensate for happy staff and increase of ingredient prices on Maui. Therefore prices double on all major holidays and high season of Dec 20 - Jan 3, and our minimum order jumps to $3000. We require a 50% non-refundable deposit for all major holiday dates.
What is the difference between the two dinner menus, Fine Dining and Family-Style?
Our Fine Dining dinner menu is our highest offering. Each plate is a work of art on its own with great attention paid to the balance each ingredient plays. The table is set artistically and silverware is changed between courses.
Family style is a more relaxed dining experience with the focus placed on robust and flavorful food that is easy to share. Family-style dishes are served on platters allowing each guest to construct their perfect combination and come back for seconds.
How do I make a reservation?
Contact us at (917) 488-8408 or email@example.com with your preferred date and share with us your vision for the meal. Once a non-refundable 20% hold is collected, your reservation is 100% guaranteed.
How far in advance do you recommend booking private chef services?
2-3 weeks in advance is perfectly fine. For big holidays and the months of November & December, we recommend booking at least a month in advance to ensure availability.
Do you serve alcohol?
Yes, we gladly serve wine and beer, but we cannot purchase liquor on your behalf. Maui County liquor laws require that you (the client) purchase the alcohol on your own. The Beast & Spoon does not have a liquor license. If you are looking to pair wines with your meal, we recommend working with our sommelier Ed at Wailea Wines.
What parts of the island do you serve?
We serve all of Maui with additional surcharges for travel to Hana.
Do you have waiters?
Yes, every dinner party comes with a minimum team of two - one chef and one server. For parties over 6 we require a dishwasher, and for parties over 10 we require additional waitstaff.

Can we watch the chef in action to learn a thing or two?
The kitchen is the heart of the home. We encourage anyone, including keiki (kids) to join our chef in the kitchen.
